Approval as a childminder

GENERELT

Beskrivelse

If you wish to be a childminder for three or more children and wish to devote ten or more hours per week regularly to this task, you are required to be approved by the municipality.

The duties you carry out shall take into consideration the child's health and well-being. Requirements are made regarding:

the layout and furnishing of the locality
possibilities for activity and rest
cleaning and maintainance
the indoor climate

Weekly childminding hours are ten or more
Childminding is a regular programme
Payment is made for the supervision

Parents who wish to have a childminder for their child benefit from knowing that the actual childminder has been approved by the municipality and is actively responsible for ensuring such approval.

Veiledning

Contact the municipality for more information on becoming an approved childminder. The application should contain a brief account of how the programme will meet the requirements specified in the regulations.

Saksbehandlingstid

The municipality will consider the application at the earliest opportunity. If the matter cannot be determined within one month, you will receive written information with the reason for this. At the same time you will be informed when it is assumed a decision will be made.

Klagemulighet

If you are not satisfied with the decision, you may appeal to the municipality within three weeks of having received the decision. Explain why you are not satisfied and why you feel that the decision should be changed. If you need advice, you may contact the municipality. If the municipality upholds its decision, the matter is sent to the county governor who determines whether the appeal shall be upheld.
