GENERELT

Beskrivelse

You may appeal any grade that will appear on your school certificate. This applies to:

Assessed grades
Examination grades
Grades for professional examinations and apprentice (trade) examinations
Grades relating to orderliness and conduct.

You may also appeal any assessment of skills. In primary and lower secondary schools, you may also appeal the term grade that appears on the certificate.

The time limit for appealing examination and assessment grades is ten days. The time limit for appealing professional and apprenticeship examinations, and also skill evaluation is three weeks. Within the time limits, you can request the reasons behind the grades given for oral examinations, the assessed grades and grades for practical examinations. You cannot request reasons for grades given for written examinations.

Målgruppe

Pupils, apprentices, private pupils and student candidates (or those who have a written power of attorney)
Parents to minors, apprentices or private pupils have an independent right of appeal.

Kriterier

Pupils under 15 years cannot appeal without the written permission of their parents.

Veiledning

The appeal must be in writing. It must be signed by yourself or the person to whom you have assigned the power of attorney. State which decision you are appealing. You should give reasons for your appeal, but this is not necessary if you are appealing a written examination grade. The appeal is sent to the school where you are a pupil. If you are a private pupil, the appeal is to be sent to the school where you took the examination. An appeal relating to a professional/apprenticed examination is sent to the vocational training board in the county.

Saksbehandlingstid

The school or body considering the appeal must consider the appeal as soon as possible. If the matter cannot be determined within one month, you will receive written information about this and simultaneously be informed when it is expected that the result will be known.

Søknadsbehandling

The result of the appeal can result in the grade being unchanged, or that a higher or lower grade is given. For the oral examination in particular, if your appeal is granted then the grade is cancelled and you have the right to a new examination.
