Beskrivelse
Home nursing provides nursing and care to the sick and handicapped in their own home. This helps reduce the demand for places in nursing homes. The service can, for example, cover treatment of sores, personal care and medication.

The service is free of charge.
This is a statutory service. See sections 1-3 and 2-1 of the Municipal Health Services Act.
Veiledning
You may contact the municipality in order to get assistance in applying for home nursing, or you may ask others to help you if you have a need for this. If someone applies on your behalf, they have a power of attorney signed by you.

Saksbehandlingstid
The municipality shall consider your application as soon as possible. If the matter cannot be determined within one month, you will be informed of this in writing with the reasons for the delay. At the same time you will be informed when you may expect to hear of the municipality’s decision.
Søknadsbehandling
The municipality shall obtain the necessary information in order to determine the matter. A decision is consequently made. Normally, a reason is given for the decision at the same time. You will always be given a reason if there are grounds to believe that you will not be satisfied with the decision. If the reasons are not stated, you may ask he municipality. This should be done within the time limit for making an appeal.
Klagemulighet
If you are not satisfied with the decision, you may appeal to the municipality within three weeks of having been informed. Explain why you are dissatisfied and why you feel the decision should be changed. If you need assistance, you may ask the municipality. If the municipality upholds its original decision, you may appeal to the county health authority.
You may also appeal to those responsible for carrying out the service. This is then to be sent to the municipality or directly to those supplying the service.
